Other crafts exist to arrive or to leave of the Island?
The surest way and that always departure in schedule time it is the ferry in LAPA PIER. Exist others boat options but not have regular service, some time depending the weather or the number of passengers. Ask in the Angra Bus Station in the mainland or in the Island in Boat travel agencies. JUST TRUST in the FERRY if need safety or take a privative taxi boat service.

Is there any nightlife on the island?
There is some nightlife in summer. For the rest of the year it is more quiet but there are bars with good beer (cerveija), open from 8pm to 1am approx.
We normally have live music for local people (samba, pagode, forro, typical music) to attract all kind of people like foreigners, local people and brazilian tourists, which is held in front of Church Square.
Lots of tourists visit the island which like to enjoy the beach and the moon at night while playing guitars and watching the fire.... a really nice place to fall in love ;o)
Once in a month the Aquarios Albergue, a backpackers hostel, organises a rave with DJ Taz (Juninho, a local, funny boy)

You have very close Inns at less than 100m, and you also have others more distant. But the town is small and the most remote is located at no more than 10 blocks from the dock. How long will I need to stay in the Island?
This depends on each person. Some people decide to remain there for ever, and some others stay only 3 or 4 days because they are more used to the “noise, glamour, luxury and comfort” of other places.
We suggest you to stay AT LEAST one week to visit all the more frequented places. If you have 15 days to spend, this will be much better. It is very common to see foreign tourists that arrive planning to stay 4 days, but then remain here 15 or they go back to the continent and return again later.

Remember that the wild Camping is forbidden.
Visit the Camping Section in ACTIVITIES.
It is forbidden to hunt, capture starfishes or birds, pull out plants or flowers, set fire and make too much noise. Remember that you are in a Biological Reservation.
